Alpha-Cure Conflict Minerals Policy
Alpha-Cure Conflict Minerals Policy
Alpha-Cure supports ending the violence and human rights violations in the mining of certain minerals from a location described as the “Conflict Region” which is situated in the eastern portion of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries. We are committed to helping our customers with their reporting requirements to disclose whether the products we manufacture or contract to manufacture contain “Conflict Minerals” that are necessary to the functionality or production of those products.
The definition of “Conflict Minerals” refers to gold, as well as tin, tantalum, and tungsten, regardless of where they are sourced, processed, and sold. Alpha-Cure supports these requirements to further the humanitarian goal of ending violent conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries.
Alpha-Cure commitment:
- Support the aims and objectives of the legislation on the supply of “Conflict Minerals”,
- do not knowingly procure conflict minerals that originate from facilities in the “Conflict Region”,
- ensure compliance with relevant requirements and ask our suppliers to undertake reasonable due diligence with their supply chains to assure that specified metals are being sourced only from “Conflict Free” locations.
- maintain and continuously improve our policies and procedures relating to conflict Minerals
- continue to train and develop purchasing staff to raise awareness and strengthen the policy commitments
Our conflict minerals due diligence is based on survey process in which we require information from critical suppliers through the Conflict Minerals Reporting template prepared by the Responsible Minerals Initiative.
The completed templates are reviewed and the findings are reported to senior management.
If we become aware that a supplier was sourcing gold, tungsten, tin or tantalum from the DRC region, we then review the smelters identified by the supplier against the facilities that comply with the responsible minerals sourcing to determine whether the smelter was audited by the independent third party.
The Conflict Minerals Report is available on request.
